1950 mercury
A guy brought me the dash, steering wheel, window trim, glove box door and I painted them bc/cc black. I did this a few months ago.
He is now talking to me about painting the whole car. I have just seen pictures and man, what a large vehicle. He wants to bring me the hood, deck lid, and doors paint both sides. Then bring the car.
Trying to decide : bc/cc or single stage with quality PPG Concept ? He said it was repainted a few years ago and in pretty good shape. I will have to see it in person. Just a few dings and wavy spots he says.
If I could sand panels with 400 grit , repair a few spots ( body filler, epoxy, hi-build ) . wet sand, buff ( 80 hrs or so ) ?
If I had to rough sand panels 80/180, epoxy, hi-build, sand 400. ( 110-120 hrs ) ?
I have never painted a car this large. Looks like I could spend 30-40 hrs colorsanding and buffing ? Especially black !
Any advice appreciated.
