1951 chevy control arms indexing

Hi
I hoping someone out there will be able to help. I'm rebuilding the front suspension of a 1951 Chevy Tin Woodie and am having trouble indexing the lower control arm shaft. The manual says to use a Chevy indexing tool, but gives no measurements. Does anyone know the indexing measurement or how to do this without the tool (that they don't make anymore)?

Thanks

I hope someone responds. Indexing A-arms is a new term to me and I would like to know what the experts say.

Same here. I don't remember using any such terminology when I did the bushings on my '54 Bel Air, but it was 1965, & I could possibly have recycled that brain cell.

control arms

Thanks for the reply
I guess I was using the term from the manual. What I need to know is how far to tighten down the control arms. The manual does not give a measurement, it says to use a chevy control arm assembly tool.

Thanks again
