1951 Chevy truck rearend
Hi , I'm new to this site . I have a 1951 Chevy 3100 pickup (all stock running gear......closed torque tube),.I'm interested if anyone knows which modern Chevy 6 bolt rearend would work on this truck to drive it on the highway . Thanks for the help !!!! Bruce

You have to convert to open drive shaft. I used a 1969 Chevy truck differential with the 6 lug wheel axles in my 1950 Chevy truck.
the springs need changed too Or build new plates to locate the axle center line correctly in the fender opening. The leaf springs bolt on closed drive line (torque tube) locate the axle differently.

there is a vendor that makes 3.35 gears for the original rear, so you can go over 50 MPH with stock running gear
