1951 ford f1 truck

can any one tell me how wide a rear axle from hub to hub is. on a a 1951 ford f1 truck. i am going to put disk brakes on a 9 inch axle that i have. but am unsure of the width. thanks for any help. scott

I would worry about what wheels and tires you want to use. Put them where you want them and determine the axle width from there.

Sorry - I am running a 9" rear end in my 51 Ford, but my truck is unaccessible for the moment. I will gladly get you some info as soon as I can

51 ford

thanks for any help. but i have found a jaguar rear axle assemble that is the right width. but need to find out what car it came out of. if you know any one let me know. thanks scott

Craig (I think he goes by Klassik here) from Australia has just completed a Jag install on his current project. I will alert him to this thread and see if he can help you out. Craig is the one who designed the www.hotrodders.com t-shirt by the way.

Please let me know how the jag rear end works out. I currently have a Ford 9" that is locked up. I am looking for a parts car to get all the innards out of to get my truck back on the road. I would love to find a 12 cylinder Jag somewhere that has been totaled and would make a great parts car.
