1951 pontiac
im trying to sort the paperwork on my 1951 pontiac chieftain, here in uk. Ive found the vin ok, but have a different number on some paperwork. Could that be data plate/ cowl plate/ body tags numbers?

Many states used the engine number to register the cars prior to 1955. The "serial number" should be located in the left door jamb... that is what you should use to register the car. But I wouldn't "rock the boat"... you KNOW how bureaucrats are...
VIN#'s came about in 1969.... I'd check in at Antique Automobile Club of America and visit the Pontiac forum... |

i will try to register using vin code on door jamb, but i still need to know what the other code is on the paperwork, like cirtificate of title, and customs form the engine in it is a 454 blown bbc, but cant see any codes on that code i need to find out is 06129 FG 042 |
