1952 Chevy

Hello my name is Steve Nelson and I am a student at Metro State College and I am trying to work and save money to make my Pops (Dad's) dream come true. He has a 1952 Chevy 2 door Sedan, which we have had for about 15 years. Itís been our "Father-Son" project to fix it up but we cant seem to find the money or the time to get it done. He is retiring this year from being a teacher, for the last 34 years. I wanted to fix up the 52' Chevy into a street rod for him. It has been his dream to have his 52' Chevy like his Father's but have it rumble and run like a muscle car. He was born in July 1950, so he wants the old look that his Father had but the power and speed of his generation. Iím just wondering if there is anything you could do to help me. It would me the world to me and my family to give him such a gift, for everything he has done and accomplished.

Thank you,
Steve Nelson

52 Chevy

If you are on a limited budget I'd suggest you use the inline six that is in that car. They can be fun to work on and can be built up into a respectable runner.
Look at www.inliners.org and see what they are doing. That group even fields record holders for some Classes at the Bonneville Salt Flats. There is a Chevy 235 here in my town that has a great sound and is a fast sharp looking car. For less than a thousand bucks you can purchase a cam, multi carburetor intake manifold, headers and other performance equipment. Another site is www.patricksantiquecars.com and that site has all kinds of performance items plus they go over board to try to help you. Good luck with the project regardless of what you decide to do. Normbc9
