1952 Chevy Window channel and felt installation

After just doing the window channels and felts on my 52 Chev 2dr sedan I am trying to figure out how to get the window crank mechanisms back into the pocket and onto the window glass. I took this apart 2 1/2 years ago and thought at the time it was going to be tough putting it back together as it wasn't easy getting it apart and out of there. I was right, it is tough!! Has anybody done one recently that can enlighten me as to the sequence of putting it back together. Or better yet is there a body manual that covers that aspect. I do have the shop manual but it doesn't cover it. Any tips are most welcome.

Hi: The moderators have been asked to request that anyone posting a thread not title it something like "Help!!" or "Need advice". The next time you post, please title your thread with the subject of your question.........something like "Window channels and felts". I changed your title for you.

The reason for this is that you will get more and better answers to a specific question, and if this turns out to be a good, helpful thread it will be easier for someone searching for the same info to find it using the search function. Thanks for your cooperation.

Dan

Find a glass replacement business and ask them. I don't know if you have Auto Glass Specialists in British Columbia but I would try a place like that. The next place I would try would be a body shop.

Thanks DanTwoLakes, I got er done. A lot of fidling around especially on the doors with the vent window out as well. Just thought it would have been easier if there was some clear instruction available somewhere. I have played with this stuff before but when you get to my age and the last one was 25 years ago you kind of forget!!!.

I'm glad it all worked out for you. This time of year it's hard to get many responses. Everybody's doing the holiday stuff and not posting like they normally would.
