I like the Norton 36 or 40 grit discs from our local Sherwin -Williams auto body supply.I moderate a 580 member 1952-56 Ford group on the HAMB,these Fords are known for rust in the floor pans and replacement floor pans are now available thru ebay and several suppliers.Look under the rocker panels and the drain holes may be plugged it is not a bad idea to enlarge them for better drainage,if you have the door panels off you will be surprised at the crud you will find in the bottom.A lot of the dust and dirt comes from the "fuzzies" around the windows being worn out and it settles in the door bottoms,I filled three buckets from my Arizona car plus what went in the 6 HP shop vac.The floor pans on the pass side tend to rust from heater core leakage,so check that area also.
