1953 chevy 3100 1/2 ton truck project
Good afternoon, I am working on a 3100 1953 chevy truck that the original 216 is seized and is being removed. Present transmission is 3 speed on the column.I am putting in a 194 chevy that just came out of a 1962 nova. It has a 2 speed powerglide trans. I like the idea of not shifting, but have been told my drive line is closed and the poweglide will only work with an open shaft. I was also told that this would not be a problem and I can pickup a newer rear axle and springs. Need some expert advise. Thanks and I have looked at your site daily these last 3 weeks, since I bought my truck. I am looking forward to bringing it back to life.
