1954 chevy 3100 pick-up daily driver

i have a 1954 chevy 3100 pick-up that is my daily driver and has been for twelve years now. i use this truck as a work truck and am not afraid to scratch it hauling everything from rocks to groceries. i did a frame off restoration at the time of purchase and now its getting time to upgrade my fifty year old frame and suspension.

i have a 54 stepside with an 84 camero clip, do you know what type of frame would work with no real hassle, i was told a s10 ex cab short bed would work fine

What is wrong with your 54 frame with the Camaro clip?

BTW, it cant be an 84 Camaro clip.

s-10 frame swap 1954 chevy pick-up

vettsrkool, from all i am reading the best s-10 to use with very little cutting and hassle is a standard cab long-bed 1980's vintage due to smog stuff etc. and it has a wheel base almost right on target but you need to switch out the narrower two wheel drive rear end for a s-10 4WD rear end which is four inches wider and is a direct bolt in, all the other s-10's extended cab short bed etc. have different wheel bases that are further off target and require more work, ADEngineering.com sells a kit of pre-made brackets for the swap and claim it can be done in a couple of weekends, to me after much reading the kit sounds like the way to go and it can be welded or bolted on the s-10 frame and they have some good technical reading and work in progress pictures, there is not a kit available for the 4WD s-10 yet, i had wanted to go heavy- half or 3/4 ton 4WD but that may be more than i can chew at this time, hope this helps, by the way i am running a 1981 z-28 front clip on my truck and it works okay but i think i can do better for ride comfort and durability, later.
