1955 Chev 2nd series Pickemup Truck
I started restoring "old" cars in High School at age 15 in 1951. Most of my restorations have back to original and mostly older Buicks and a few Falcon 2dr hardtops and Rancheros from 1963-65. I am currently working on the 55 Chev pickup for the first streetrod experience since HighSchool. It was a project that was started many years ago and then put aside until I purchased it in many, many pieces about a year ago. It already had installed a Volare front steering/suspension and Ford 9in diff. I have installed a new Chev crate motor HT383 and a heavy duty 700R4 tranny. I had the diff refurbished and installed Auburn 389:1 locking gears. I am installing Edelbrock TPI and HEI distributor. It has power steering, Air Conditioning, and power discs in the front and drums in the rear.
Projects waiting in the wings: 53 Buick 2dr hardtop that will be a restorod; 65 Ranchero that will be restored with upgraded engine/tranny; 67 Camaro that I've owned since new and will undergo 2nd repaint; 71 Bronco, currently all apart; 63 Falcon Futura convertible. I have a 47 Buick Roadmaster Convertible that has exterior and interior restored and tranny rebuilt. Engine is from a 51 Buick (runs great but has unknown high miles) which I have owned since 1985. I have the original engine, also. Would sell this one if anyone is interested. Top is in very good condition but is newer Vinyl type instead of the correct canvas. Bill Winnett, Gilbert, Arizona
