1955 Chevy father & son projects

It has been close to 25 years since I worked on a 55 Chevy or read HotRod. I stored two project cars away with hopes I would restore them someday. My 16 year old son has got the bug and he wants to see if we can get one running. The best of the two cars was hit on the roof with a large branch. So it looks like the project is going to be a chopped 55 Chevy. So I am looking for a rot bucket with a good roof located close to Connecticut. If any one knows of a good article or books on chopping a 55 please let me know. I hope to post pictures soon.

Welcome to the site Dom Lacava. Good to see you are working on that project with your son. You will all remember these times together forever.

"How to chop tops" by Tex Smith is a good one. I think it is out of print but you can find them on Ebay or place a free wanted ad in the Classifieds on this site. I think that Amazon usually has them listed. Another one is "Chopping Tops: Practical Hot Rodder's Guide" by Larry O'Toole.
