1955 Chevy title

I think I posted something sometime ago, as far as where I could find the VIN# on my 1955 Chevy car, well I got the VIN # but have not been able to work out a deal with the so called Title Recovery Companies, since we have the original VIN Plate lost inside the house & can not find it, they have told me to keep looking for it, even though I give them the frame VIN #, so now I'm looking for a wrecked 55 with a VIN Plate & Title so I can buy the whole car & make one car out of two, so if anybody has one near in Texas(I'm in Laredo) let me know where & how much!! I've tried uploading pics of my project in progress but I can't get a hang of it, can somebody lead me on as how to upload pics here??

why not go to the cal DMV and have them issue a new title/vin
after they run the old one..
should not be an issue if the car is not hot..

55 title

That would be nice if it could be that easy in Texas, have you or anybody you know ever gone through this, what steps were taken & info need to comply?? You see cause this car is not hot, stolen or other wise, I've had it for almost 30 years, my friend the previews owner had it for over 10 years & his cousin had it for about 10 years, so I got me & 2 preview owners to vouch for the car, so it's not hot. But I wonder if TX DMV would want to issue me a real title for it!! I'll do whatever they want, as long as I'm garanteed a title.
