Hello,
Just Joined This Site To See If I Can Get Some Help. I've Got A 1956 Olds "98", With A Stock 324 With A Jetaway Transmission. I Want To Upgrade The Tranny And I Was Told That A 350 Would Bolt Right In.? The Engine Is New,board 30 Over, And I Don't Trust The "junkaway" Anymore. I Don't Want A Race Trans, Just A Reliable Tranny That Will Not Break Down. The Stock Trans Has A Rod That Connects The Trans To The Carb, And Since This Is Stock, I'd Like To Keep This. Any Ideas / Contacts Would Be Appreciated. Thanks

The first gen Olds V8 uses a unique bellhousing bolt pattern. The later BOP transmissions like the TH350 do NOT bolt in. You need an adapter such as one of these:

'56 Olds Trans Swap???

Hi! I Want To Swap Out My Jetaway For Something More Modern. I Want To Keep The 324 Engine, And I Can Find Adaptors Easily, But I'm Not Sure About A Trans. That Will Fit The Easiest. It Isn't For Racing, Just A Driver. I'd Like To Find A Trans That Will Bold Right In, Keeping The Kick Down Rod And Same Mounts?, Without Having To Modify Mounts, etc? I Guess I'd Have To Get A Driveshaft Made Also? Thanks For Your Help. Dave
