They were built for the military and the railroads. no two doors tho. There was a bone yard north of Imlay City, Mi. That had several badged C&O railway.
I had a 57 Binder, same configuration. Came from USAF base in Texas.
This one appears to be a 2 door. I saw a picture once of a late 60's Chevy that looked like the same configuration as this one. It seems like the story that went with that one was that Chevy built some of those.
I had read about a coach company that made all sorts of renditions based on Chevy trucks, crew cabs, airport limos, etc. I thought I saved the link, but I can't find it now.

as a side note to this thread suburbans originally had 2 doors,
they went to 3 doors in the 60s and stayed that way for many yrs.
i don't think it was until the late 80s or early 90s that they went to current 4 door configuration
this guy had a 56 4 door suburban built 3 yrs ago for his family cruiser
it was on the cover of custom classic trucks back then
i met him on the 2011 hot rod power tour
hrpt ended in motown that yr, here he is at my house with truk
