1957 gmc 9300

I recently bought a 1957 GMC 9300...which is basically a Chevy 1/2 ton with a different grille.

My plan is as follows:

Step 1: Repair items (cab mounts/supports, master cylinder, king pin etc..) so I can continue driving it.
Step 2: Front clip and airbags and drive "under construction" to ensure everything is working
Step 3: Frame off, full sandblast, repair body, box frame
Step 4: Paint Re-assemble
Step 5: Give it to my son (he's 2 1/2 now)

i have never seen the 9300 designation, cool truck
if you work the same speed as i did on my 58
your son will be getting his learners permit by the time it is roadworthy again

It's been fun driving it...it does need some work like body mounts and I am going to upgrade to power brakes because the orignal master cylinder is leaking anyway...might as well.

What engine is in your truck? If it's a V-8 is it a Buick or Pontiac? Nice truck.

It's got a nice 305 with a 3-speed tranny (I assume 350 tranny). I almost bought a 49 Chev 3100, and a 63 Merc Unibody but ended up with this because I love the agressive stance of 57 including the Belair/Biscayne's. I liked the Chevy version but couldn't pass on this GMC as mechanically it was a better starting point than the Chevy's I'd seen.
