I'm presently block sanding my 59 Chevrolet Apache hood. I used a shrinking disc on a few areas due to "oil canning." I'm having trouble figuring out the right body contours from the high point in the middle to the side of the hood. Would someone be so kind to take a couple of pictures with a straight edge going from the middle to the outside just before it ramps up.

I need to see if it is straight across, contours down etc... I'm getting frustrated at this point.

this is highly specialized work your attempting,I've seen 10yr vets that havent masterd this part of body work.luckily though you'll not need pictures they'll do you no good. I'll need some info first. How much experiance do you have? is the hood on the truck? how long are the blocks your useing? what grit paper?can you send a pic of the area in question? I'm sure we can get to the bottom of this in no time. I've been at it fer 35 yrs

You answered my question. I need to trust my work because the right blocks and guide coat don't lie Correct? I will post pictures on the 55-59 lounge site.

correct !!!!!but you have to understand what they're telling you,trust them they'll never lie,just hard to understand sometimes. Kinda like us
