If memorey serves, but don`t quote me on this, Pontiac changed the pattern in 1965, so a earlier intake won`t work.

From my ancient tech books...it says that Poncho used 3 different patterns...'58-'60,'61-'62 and '65 up. It did say that they will all "theoreticly" interchange if you re-drill and tap the mounting holes. So, while it sounds like you may have the wrong pattern it can be modified.

Pontiac intake manifold interchange goes like this:

57-58
59-60
61-64
65-79

If you are running the 60 heads, which I assume you are, only the 59 or 60 manifolds are just a bolt on deal.

I can't tell you what you need to do, but I will suggest that you put a 59/60 intake manifold gasket up to the manifold, to see what the difference is. An easier route might be to check Ebay or Racing Junk for a correct manifold. I remember a tri power for a 60 on Racing Junk, a while back, and they're more rare than a 4 bbl. You might even get lucky and find a dual quad.

The tech article, a 1970, said that it wasn't really something expected because all series offered the same range of intakes. Of course, almost 40 years later, the choice is not so plentiful. I would do as suggested, and lay the gasket on the manifold. It isn't the porting or water passages according to this, just the attachment points, so it should be fairly straightforward after you compare the 2.
