I have the opportunity to get a total clapped out beater of a 1962 galaxie, in my favorite color, rust, for absolutely free. Near as I can tell, It needs rockers, floorpans, and one quarter. For a motor, I aquired an FE, I believe a 428 out of a 68 galaxie. What is parts availability like for these things? Its a bit early and off model, isnt it? Interior is a wreck, but i can make that... wont be a restoratrion, but itl look good and haul four guys to the cruise,, alot better than an 84 stang with no seats and a 4500 stall converter on a 460

I'm fairly new to FEs but from what I gather, the 352-428 series is one of the most interchangeable engine series ever made. Parts are quite easy to come by. In fact, watch ebay and you can pretty well outfit the entire rebuild off the auction. I got cam lifters gasket set, bearings, heads, intake manifold, Thunderbird valve covers, bolt set - everyting for my engine within a few weeks.
