1964 F100 Disc Brake Conversion

I have a 1964 F100 and I want to convert to front disc brakes. I have a 1984 F150 from which I will transplant the drive train from and to the 1964. Can the 1984 disc brake system be installed in the 64? If not is there another model year vehicle disc brake system that I can use? Or to I have to buy a conversion kit?

WELCOME to Hotrodders.com

With your truck being a straight axle front end truck and the donor being a different design ... I doubt if they interchange ... but I could be mistaken ... As a Moderator here I wanted to WELCOME you here ...

re: 1964 F100 Disc Brake Conversion

I appreciate the welcome and your advise, Thank you.

I hope to have the 64 the garage soon and then I can have a first hand look but I thought I would throw the question out there in the meantime.

Cheers

Charlse

re: 1964 F100 Disc Brake Conversion

How about swapping the 64 body onto the 84 frame...........I would do some measuring and see how feasable that is.

re: 1964 F100 Disc Brake Conversion

I had not considered swapping the body, certainly worth considering. That would take care of the power steering too. Thanks for the suggestion.
