1964 Impala SS - Temperature Control Knobs

1964 Impala SS, what is the trick to remove the 3 "temperature control chrome knobs"? I don't see any set screws!
Thanks in advance....

If I remember correctly, they just pull off the arms and then the arms will go through the control panel when you take it out from under the dash. They don't come off real easy but then if they did, they would fall off all the time when used. Don't take my word for it because it's been a long time 1975 since I did it. Wait for more input on the site and see if others agree. I wouldn't want you to mess them up on my account!

They either pull straight off or they have a metal tab behind them that you must depress toward the back of the knob to remove it.....if my memory serves me right....big if.

Done! I sprayed some wd40 onto the metal sliders holding the knobs, let it sit overnight. I took a small squared rod and placed it into the open slots on the back of the knobs, gave it a good wack and they slipped right off! Thanks!
