1964 nova cover plate?
I have a 1964 nova with a stock rear end it is a 10 bolt but it has a cover that looks like a 12 bolt it has the v on it .is that common?
I just wount to say thanks to all that have helped me out with some of the questions i have had.
The "V" in certain GM cover plates was an aid to lubing the outer axle bearings. The ring gear will throw lube up on the back cover. The "V" will direct the lube outward to the two holes in the housing. From there, it will go into the tubes and hopefully lube the bearings.
