1965 Mustang 200 - C4 (Thanks)

This is a follow up post for everyone that was watching my old post about my '65's Transmission! Thanks again for all of your replies!

Symptoms: Lots of slippage, lots of leaks, wouldn't shift into third gear no matter what I did!

Tried: Fluid/filter change, Some transmission fix oil, and all sorts of little tweaks here and there. Modulator valve change.

Problem!: The kick-down lever in the transmission has a bolt on the inside that rolls back and forth, and the bolt was CRACKED, leaving it stuck in the DOWNSHIFT position! The transmission had never been rebuilt I found out by taking it apart, and seeing the 40 year old seals, clutches, pump, and bands shot and burnt. I did a full rebuild on the transmission, new clutches, new front pump, all new bands adjusted properly.

Result!: Car shifts PERFECTLY from 1 - 2 - 3! Great acceleration, and no whining.

Also: I got a job AT the transmission shop that was going to do my work for me, got a full rebuild for free, and now I am learning to remove, rebuild, and replace transmissions! Thanks again for all of your help guys!
