I am trying to get an electronic ignition set up for my 1966 chev pu with a 292 6 cyl in it. Will a distributor from any year GM 292 work with it?
The local wrecker has a distrubutor with built in coil from a 81 GM. Will this work and what else will I need to make it work. Thanks for any tips or alternate suggestions. |

Call a parts store and ask if the any part number interchange between the two they may have a cross reference number (try to find a time that they are not busy)

That 292 in my opinoin is a great low end motor, if you did any reasearch on it, it has a 4.25 stroke which makes it a basacly a stroked out 250, the engine also has great low end porformance the 250 I beleive has a very very mild cam since it has 8.1-1 compression and still has 165 PSI per cylinder that engine also peaks out on the tourqe end at 1300 RPM
