1966 Chev panel delivery brakes

Has anyone experience with changing big ol drums on a 1 ton to discs? It has 17.5 wheels and I would like to convert to 6 bolt 15" wheels and brakes from a 90 1/2 ton Suburban.......practical?

I have done this conversion with the 1/2 ton version of the '66 pickup. Don't see why a 3/4 ton from '73-'87 wouldn't work, maybe even later versions. I used a '73 front end on my '66. Unbolt the entire front cross member and use everything in place of the '66 front end cross member and parts. It is a direct bolt in, with very little modification. It is done much easier with the engine and transmission out of the way. All the fender and front grill assembly can stay in place. I fingure the same year models for a 3/4 ton would probably do the same on your ride. At least worth looking into and doing a bit of measuring. Even as late as the '90 model may work.
