1966 Impala brakes not grabbing a well as they should

When I hit my brake it isn't grabbing as tight as it used to. Checked the fluid level and vacuum hook up on booster seems to be right. Noticed an air sound when I press pedal coming from that rubber thing behind pedal. Anyone have any ideas what this could be and why my brakes are not grabbing right.

Your power booster has failed if you are hearing air when you press the brake peddal.

Those were just the first two links to come up when I google'd "66 impala power brake booster". I would do a bit more investigating before you run out and buy a whole new booster however.
