1967 Camaro Rear End Question

Hey guys,

I am rebuilding a 67 Camaro and am ready to install the engine and tranny. I currently have a 3.08, 10 bolt, non-posi rear end (original on the car), and am going to put either a saginaw 4 speed (1 groove on the input shaft), or a muncie M20 in it as they are what I have in my shop. Is this going to be a dog in first gear? I have a 327 running the whole thing, and consiously chose a cam that will produce some low end torque when I was building the engine (engine will have about 350-380 HP). I am not wanting to drag the car all of the time, but don't want to have a pig off of the line either.

Any thoughts?

Home for your old rear end

If you decide to off that non posi I would have a home for it in my wife's 67 convertible. The 2.73 is making noise and I would like to step it up a bit for her.

Just be prepared to replace the clutch disc every 25K miles. You'll be slipping it a lot from a dead stop.

Use a Sag with 2 rings (3.11 low). Works much better with 3.08's.
