1967 Rally Sport Camaro

I have a 1967 RS Camaro Coupe with a 396 which is almost fully complete. The interior needs some work and I'm trying to decide if I want to go back to the all original interior or try something a little different. What I am wanting to do is put the leather interior of a newer Camaro in so I can have a comfortable and unique modern interior in the classic car. If anyone has any ideas as far as how to go about this or if this idea is even feasable please let me know.

it really dependson what you want the car to be worth. if you put the newer interior in the car so it's comfterble, in many cases the value will drop, but you could make it look good. If you wan't better than original, but not as good as the newer, and it shouldn't hurt the value. late Gen 2 Camero seats ( '77-81 ) look great in gen 1 Camero's.

New question, i'm not sure if i like the 2-speed power glide tranny that i have in the car now. What other options should i look at that would work best with the 396?

TH350 can be built to handle a bit of power and is lighter and smaller than a TH400.

good point..the reason i used the th400 is cause mine had a 396 in it when i bought it and i switched over to a 454 nitrous fed mouse..I wanted a tranny that would hold up so got a th400 and had it rebuilt with a shiftkit and extreme duty internals..depending on what you want to do with it the th350 is a good choice aswell as easy to find

So if i go with the TH350, then what gears would I want to go with? I don't care about the gas mileage if I did I wouldn't have gotten a muscle car as my 2nd vehicle. The gears that are in there now are lacking, im not excactly sure what they are but they are difinately geared towards the highway. I have a 10 bolt rear end and I have been thinking about going with a 3.73 gear ratio?

3.73 would be great. they got good highway manors and are low enough to come off the line quickly

i have been told that i should go with some 4.10 gears, but i dunno if i quite need all of that. how much difference would there be between the two?

If you have a real 67 RS, it didn't come with a 396, so whatever you do with the interior makes little difference. The 67 deluxe interior is pretty nice as is, but if you want fancier use the deluxe as a pattern and have it done in leather. On the cheap, use 2nd gen Camaro Seats and replace the door trim, kickpanels, headliner, console, etc.

Whatever you do, don't paint it red! and don't add SS stripes and spoiler!

you don't need 4:10's, would suffer in drivability with them. 3.73's as I said have better street manors. dosn't seem like much diffrence but there is
