1967 Starting issues

Hey guys - I am the proud new owner of a '67 Camaro. I recently had the starter and distributor replaced due to some careless work by a previous owner... no big deal... the problem I am having is that now when the new starter turns over there is a hesitation... then as I drive the car throughout the day the hesitation from the starter gets worse and then it basically gets to a point where it does not want to start.

Any help that can be offered would really be appreciated!!

Thx, Kent

Explain hesitation. If it's doing what I think, the timing needs adjusted.

Starting Issue

Thanks a lot for the reply. When I turn the key, there is a pause and then it starter starts to engage but it feels like it is not going to crank over until the last moment when it finally cranks fast enough to start the motor... It is a very similiar starting sound/feel as if the battery was firing... Accept I have a new battery.

Did you ck all the connections? the delay before the starter engages might be an indication of a loose connection, fired wire, the Solenoid going bad on the starter or the starter is improperly shimmed.
