1969 Camaro Tach

Hey guys. I hope everyones new year is going well. I am trying to hook up a 1969 camaro tach in my 1969 camaro Z-28. It is a stock tach going in the tach pod. My question is that I don't have the wiring harness and would like to hook it up directly to the HEI. Is there a way I can do this and wire it directly to the back of the tach and if I can where would the wires go and on what leads? I hate to waste the money I have in the tach. Thanks in advance for your help, it is always appreciated.

I don't know how the wires hook to the back of your tach but you should be able to wire it in. There should be four wires for it, a black ground, red keyed 12v power, a white that hooks into the dimmer switch circuit, and a green wire that runs to the dist. you said it's a HEI so all you have to do is hook a female spade terminal to the tach output on the dist, right next to the power wire.

I think you will need a filter to run this stock point type tach on HEI? you may burn it up?
