Post 1969 corvette

On the engine pad on the car the code is V0409---The 04 is the month (April)--The 09 is the day of the year.--But what does the V stand for...????

On most corvettes the code on the engine pad would start with (F) Flint or (S) for saginaw.

Lori-due,
Whats the whole number onthe pad?Whats the number on the windshield post?Portions should match.The number on the post should read something like 1Z67w2S4072332.(my old corvette)
1=Chevrolet
Z=corvette
67=Convertable(i think 47 is coupe)
w=454(i'm not sure when they started stating engine size here)
2=1972
s=St. Lewis(corvette build plant)
4072332=production of car.these are the numbers that should be on the engine pad.
I have plenty of corvette books here.
Check the block near the distributer for casting numbers.What are they?If nothing else give me the serial number of the car and I'll tell you what I have on it.
