1969 Mustang AOD Swap

Hello,

I am a first time user of the Bulletin Board. My name is Ralph and I own a 1969 Mach 1 Mustang. I am interested in replacing my original FMX transmission with a new AOD. I have read up on it a bit but I am still concerned about how well the swap will go. Can anyone offer some insight and possibly a good mechanic who has done this swap before.

Thanks

Read these next 2 articles also -
the first is how to beef an AOD, from mild
to wild. A stock AOD has some major shortcomings
and weak points if you're going to put anything other
than totally stock power thru it, and not abuse it.

This one is something you may be interested in, also,
for a better auto OD trans than an AOD that is both
sturdier in totally stock form AND wher eyou can have
complete control over all shift points and level of
firmness

I've got a 70 that I may put my 351/4R drivetrain in
when I retire, if I can't afford a Factory Five Cobra
