1969 repop quarter fit

I'm replacing the quarters and tailpan on a 69 camaro for a guy. He bought the full quarter skins from classic industries. The left quarter fits good, but the right quarter has a huge gap between the trunk lid and the quarter, about a 1/2". The left quarter has 3/16" like it should, and they both fit into the tail pan nice and tight. Any Ideas to fix this, I've thought of round rod welded to both sides of the deck lid, and the recenter the deck lid.

re: 1969 repop quarter fit

This is something that I just could never get a grasp around (and this is not personal, I see it all the time), why someone would want to modify a PROPER part to fit the IMPROPER part? I have never understood that. Make the darn quarter fit the deck lid.

Go to the link provided by Shoddy, that is THE best Camaro site on the net with a LOT of good people and info there.

This problem has been hashed over many times there.

Rather than just posting the general link to the Camaro forum, why not post the specific link you are referring to so the individual does not have to wade through a ton of post's to find what he needs?

Update: This is one link I found that gives you an idea of what is involved .

No offense taken, were all pretty laid back here. . That is a very good site, wish I would have known about it when I was restoring my Camaro.
