1970 Chevelle

My name is Tom Mitchell and I recently bought a '70 Chevelle. It does not have a VIN tag, however the seller did give me a VIN number. Aside from the driver side front window location, and the Cowl Tag, is there another place the VIN number is stamped, like on the frame-where?

Welcome! You need to visit the Team Chevelle site at Technical Question & Answer Forum for the Chevrolet Chevelle, Malibu, SS & El Camino and you will find everything you ever would need. I know it's stamped on the frame but don't remember where. You REALLY need to take this seriously, you could very well have a stolen car there.

1970 Chevelle

Thank you Brian for the Chevelle site. I am taking this very seriously. I do have an attorney involved. If they did stamp the frames with the VIN # back in 1970 I now have to find the VIN# stamping, where ever it is, and see if it matches with the number he gave me. If you happen to remember where the stamping is it is please advise.

do you have a title? or did he just write number on a paper. no vin in the window is a big red flag not to buy or get involved!!! Not to scare you but if it is stolen you will be an accessory after the fact!
