I'm not sure what they are, but for a generic application like yours you can ignore or remove them, they would only be of use to an installation in the original Lincoln. May be some type of "E-brake left on" sensor or or pad wear sensor.

Some of the Lincolns had "Skid Control" that may be what the sensors are for.

You guys got me curious, so I did some Googling and found an article in Hemmings, where I spotted the following quote: "An advanced safety feature came on every Mark III in 1970 - the Sure-Track Brake System offered rear-wheel-only anti-lock braking down to four mph". Mystery solved. Thanks again.
