1971 chevelle ss

can you all help me out and be on the look out for a 1971 chevelle ss just the body and frame in almost any condition for under 600. because christmas is comming and my dad use to have this car and he wishes he never sold it so i wanted to suprise him by getting one he could fix up.

thanks guys if you could help me with this if you all need anything at all that i could help with just ask.

If you are looking for just the body and the frame...then it wouldn't neccasarily need to be an SS right?The only difference on a bare body and frame between the Malibu,Chevelle and SS other than the VIN was suspension setup. The SS was a package option that was an Upgrade from the base models....If I am wrong on this let me know.
I just sold a 1971 Convertible about 2 weeks ago to a guy in New Jersey. I do know that the convertibles have a 'boxed' frame as opposed to an open channel frame.

its for saying that it is a an original ss with all the logos and all so i could get a malibu but the feeling wouldnt be the same.

Save your money!

Get a good restore-able 71 SS and you and your Dad can work on it, he will probably pay for the resto and you get to drive it, maybe?? I suggest you NOT start with junk, its a lot more work. Leave the hard resto's to the guys with a lot more experience and looking to make a bit of cash form reselling it.
