Ford didn't use the self contained HEI that GM did. They had the Duraspark from '75-'77 and Duraspark II in '-78-'83.. Ford used the 390 till '76 and Duraspark distributors were factory

Napa, carquest or any good parts store should be able to source you the correct distributor..

1976 F-150 w/ 4bbl 390 should get you $80 ish out the door for a distributor.. You will need the harness from a donor car ( any duraspark/ Duraspark II harness will work ) to use the factory ignition modual.. Otherwise you could wire a GM hei modual for a few bucks, or go MSD ignition for a few more. MSD even has an adapter connector to make it plug and play..

DUI distributors are supurb, but if your just looking for electronic ignition/ 40k+ volt capabilities, the Duraspark distributors will fit the bill
