1971 Lemans Throttle Bracket ????

My uncle has a 1971 Lemans that came with a two barrel 350. He replaced the intake and carb with a Performer intake and Edelbrock 4 barrel carb. He wants to hook up the original throttle cable but his factory bracket won't work. Edelbrock has just sent him in circles. Anyone out there already do this procedure and know of a part number so I don't have to make him a bracket.

Email me at work if you can help us out. james.cathell@fmmc.army.mil

throttle bracket

i did the same thing. i got some aluminum sheet stock from home depot or you can get a small piece from a sheet metal shop, maybe just for the asking. make a template from card stock that will bolt to the rear two bolt holes of the carb. mounting bolts. transfer these to the sheet metal, then align you stock bracket to the new bracket, drill some holes to bolt your old bracket too. hope i didn't make it to difficult to under stand.. just make everything lines up straight. good luck, Richard

Well the part number in my Edelbrock catalog for this swap is #8015. Says its for 68 to 71 Pontiac Throttle cables. Dont know wht edelbrock gave you the run around If for some reason it doesnt work then are several companies like Lokar and Mr. gasket to name a couple that make universal brackets that will work or could be made to work.
