Novas are reason when it comes to weight.easy to get parts for them. I guess it really depends what you call power.
example only,I bought a 1980 Camaro from a fella that spent a pile of money on the car, including a rebuilt 454. I paid 5k for the car( twice what it was worth) but a good deal considering how much he had spent on it.
problem it was a dog,ran low 14s. I took the engine out, took it apart and blue printed the engine and changed the camshaft and put a used set of bigger valves in the stock small valve heads.
It cost me $1700.oo .The car picked up 7/10s. then I bought a posi, different manifold and different intake, changed the gears, bought slicks, etc, ended up running 11.9s
