1973 buick apollo 350
Hello, I have a 1973 Buick Apollo with a factory 350 2 Barrel. 10 years ago I rebuilt the engine using flat top pistons and a hot cam. What else can I do to it to get the most hp I can. Also what hp can I expect to get out of this engine.

absolutely the same as any other engine, just have to look around more to find the parts.Thats some of the fun.go carb and exhaust first, depends on budget too.
|
Thank you, do you think one could get 350 or more horses out of this engine.

absolutely, soon enough one of the Buick guys will post and point you directly where you need to go.It costs a little more for a Buick. Rather than pick a random amount of horse power you might want, talk to someone that has a buick and see what they have and if thats what you want. Hang in there,,,

I say put a Pontiac 400 or 455 also can you post a picture of the car I remember those cars they were nice.
Years ago I called Chet Hubbard and he fixed me up with a nice cam now the guy died but his brother and son are still making cams goggle his name and ask them for the right size cam and heads for your baby. |
Well I really wanted to keep the original drive train in it since it's fixing to be 40 years old next year. I will try to get pics up soon. I just love the fact that you rarely see these buicks anymore and thats why I want to fix it up.

Recurve the distributor by adding a advance kit. Add headers. Some one else mentioned a longer duration cam. :)

Ya I do have a comp Cam and flat top Pistons in it now but looking for advice as to an Intake and Carb. I do plan on headers as well and a performance Distributer. -Leo-
