In the mid 70's Ford made a toploader 4 spd with overdrive which came in vans and pickups that could be very suitable and is not very spendy..most older ford trans shared a bolt pattern and input spline so are very interchangeable..

I saw this on craigslist today. It might be worth checking out. 2006 mustang transmission 5 speed I think they have the same 10 spline input shaft as the older transmissions, but I'm not sure.

WATCH THE INPUT SHAFT LENGTH.
Some time around 2000; the length of the input increased on the Ford T5's It probably has something like a 3.35:1 1st gear; so don't go crazy with the axle ratio's. 3.23 or 3.31 is all you really need in your little buggit |
