1977 door handle

Hello, My driver side handle stopped working. I looked at the inside of the door and it seems the part that pushes the latch open is not secured. When the door handle is lifted a rod should push the latch open. It is all connected but not working. Can someone give me some info. Maybe parts locator.
Tom

You probably should tell what kind of car you have.

If that handle is similar to the Ford vans (I have a '77), The inside handle can wear out... or the linkage behind the handle can get bent.

Sometimes the pin on the inside handle, that pushes the linkage, gets worn... which bends the linkage. If it's too bad, the handles are available from A1 Auto, online, for about $20.

You can also reach in behind the linkage that it pushes, with a screw driver, and pry the linkage toward you.
