1977 Lincoln Versailles

I am looking at buying a low mileage 1977 Lincoln Versailles with a 351W engine. I was thinking of leving it stock appearing but mod the suspension for better handling and tweeking the engine or swaping in a 90s 5.0.
Do you guys know if I can swap suspension parts from a Mustang to the Versailles. I am thinking of a 2" drop in ride height and overall stiffening the suspension to make it a handler.
Any suggestions on the engine to get 300hp.
Thanks
Jorge

300 hp out of a 351 should be real easy and just a mild hop up.
