1979 Chevy Truck Interior question

I have a 1979 Chevy 1/2 4WD and i have the option to purchase a 87 3/4 ton that has been wrecked but has Perfect interior and im curios to see if they are interchangable, dash, door panels, seat etc... Im not too worried about possible having to drill new holes. But would prefer not to run into too many major problems. Thanks in advance

As far as I know, everything should fit. But you will have to make some things fit. I know in the 87 the gas tanks are under the seat so there is a big hump for them to mount on. Im not sure if the 79 did or not though.
Also the dash is a bit different. If you look towards the end of the dash on the passenger side, the 73-80s are all straight and flat, the 81-87s curve over to blend into the door panels.
I also think that the dash bezels are different.
Check out this forum, theres other guys who have done swaps like this

I have a 78 Chev p/u and can tell you several differences, The dash pad is different, early has center speaker opening and 81 up has speaker hole on end plus passenger side trim is different. Early has windshield wiper switch in dash and late has wiper control and dimmer switch on steering column. Not a major job, I made that swap on my 78. Door panels have minor difference in trim other than that I think that is about all.

I did that swap a few years ago.
A 87 tan interior into my 80.
I did all the trim pieces but skipped the dash.
The whole job was time consuming but not hard by any means.

Passing on my experience....DON'T put carpet in a truck.
Install two layers of sound deading (one which is heat reflective) and then buy, or reinstall the factory rubber floor cover.
Carpet is a pain in the *****, AND its hard to keep clean.

The late interior sure made the old truck look better and sound a lot quieter.

Any help PM me
