I need to know about how hot should the temp gauge run?
I don't know if it might need a radiator.

Should run around the thermostat temp (180-195) if the sensor is in the intake, if it's in the head expect about 5-10 degrees hotter. And if it ain't got a t-stat its gonna run pretty d#&* HOT.

Welcome to Hotrodders....Sorry but this forum is for..Site Suggestions and Site Help. The question that you posted belongs in the Engine forum. That way the Engine Gurus will see it and give you a answer. My 99 Silverado temp runs from 195 -200. I bought it new and this is what it normally runs. They run the later models at a higher temps than they used to ...to get better gas mileage. Hope that helps ya out.

This is the Site Suggestions and Help forum. Discuss issues relating to Hotrodders.com in this forum. Feel free to ask questions, or post comments, suggestions, or constructive criticism.

Specific tech questions should go in one of the tech forums. In your case the engine forum. You will get a lot more exposure there from the members that are well versed in that area. Let them know a lot more information so that they will be ble to give you an informed opinion. What temperature is your truck running at now? Do you have antifreezes in your coolant? Is the coolant level full? Have you had your radiator flushed recently? Is your fan working?
