1979 vette on 1975 frame Help!!!

I traded a old CJ5 for this car because I always wanted a Vette now Im in school for autobody and learning alot but what I have is a issue I have been told that on the body to use a primer that flexs so the car wont get cracks in the fiberglass but then i have also been told not to use that primer just to use a think primer and that i wouldnt have any problems. Can someone please Help me and point me in the right direction. I am also working on a budget dew to having 7 kids kids but I have all the time in the world to get it done so if it takes longer no biggy.

So... I was expecting a frame question and not a question about primer. What exactly does your title "1979 vette on 1975 frame Help!!!" have to do with primer?

7 kids and time is no concern to you? I think that time statement is a bit of a stretcher. Welcome to the forum.

I haven't done any Corvettes in years but the last time I took one to gelcoat, I used an epoxy primer and then built up from there.

Epoxy primer is the way to go today. Years ago before anyone knew what epoxy was we use to strip them and use a enamel primer surface on them because it wouldn't crack as bad. THe problem with fiberglass is it moves around so much almost every thing will crack sooner or later and the thicker the more it will.
