1980 monte carlo frame rust

I have a great cond 1980 Monte Carlo. The rear part of the Frame has rusted out and the bumper had fallen off. What are my options on fixing it? ive been told i can get it welded back up but that would cost 2G. that is not a option.. i will use the car for parts before i spend that kinda money... now what about replacing the Frame... is the Frame 1 peice in which i would have to remove the whole body? how hard is that and do u need many special tools? i currently have a 1982 Grand prix which the car isnt in the best cond. I think ive read on here that the frames are the same on both cars.. is this true?

what would be the best option?
use the car for parts and put the 305 in my Grand prix, replace the frame on the monte.

Thanks,
Cody

its very common to see the frame rusted out like that, it just makes purchasing them cheaper though. the frames shouls be the same for both your cars, we've welded good rear frames onto ones that are rusted off if the front of the car gets wrecked as these are the cars we use for circle track racing. your best bet would be to swap the engine into your other car with the solid frame and drive that.
