If the original wiring is still intact, There are very few wires required to connect to the engine.
There is a wiring loom that runs across the back of the engine compartment near the left valve cover. That has these wires: - wires running to the alternator BAT terminal and the two wire plug on the alternator (3 wires). - start wire and fuse box power wire running down to the starter (2 wires) There is also a power wire running to the HEI, and there may be a tach wire running to the HEI. You also need the large (red) battery cable running from the positive battery terminal, and the black battery cable from battery negative to a ground point on the alternator bracket or engine block. Other wires you may have: - A/C compressor (dark green) - temp gauge sensor (green) - choke power wire (color?) - A/C idle solenoid Bruce |
