1985 Corvette Hot & Cold Lever Struck

Hi , I do not know if it is the right place to post this, as I am a newbie. I just purchased a 1985 Corvette and the hot and cold lever is stuck on the cold side and will not move. The car could of have been sitting for a while but not sure. I was trying to get behind the control box for the heater controls but I can not get the buttons off the hot and cold levers, these should pull off right. Any help with this problem would be very appreciated. Thank. Bill

In most cases there is a cable attached to the lever and it runs over to a blend door in the plenum. Its probably the blend door that is stuck, but it could also be the cable itself. Sometimes stuff has just fallen down the defroster vent and jammed the door.

Try to find a heat/AC diagram for your car, and locate the blend door. Its probably not that hard to reach without taking a lot of things off (but on a Corvette?). The door is usually somewhere behind the glove compartment on the passenger side of most cars.
