1986 Chevy 350 - Plug for Choke Riser Tube Hole in Exhaust Manifold

Hello Folks,

Worked on the 47 Plymouth today. It has a 1986 Corvette 350 TPI engine.
I discovered that there is a hole in the passenger side exhaust manifold, which goes all the way through into the #4 exhaust port, and appears to have been used for a factory choke riser tube.

I would like to plug this hole, as I assume that it is causing an exhaust leak. It measures exactly 1/4". Should I just drill and tap it for a 5/16 x 18 plug, or is there some other sort of simple plug I can tap in and be done with it?

Thanks in advance.

I say tap it and put a bolt in it. But why would you have a choke if the engine is fuel injected?

One vote for tap and bolt.

I have determined that the exhaust manifolds are not the originals; these were sourced from an earlier small-block Chevy, perhaps to make for a better fit into the Plymouth frame.
